My name is Laura Gibson and I have been in the Esthetics Industry for over 20 years. I started my journey a little differently than most of you, because back in the stone ages there weren’t ANY laws for Estheticians in the state of Virginia! I apprenticed at a local spa for several years until laws eventually came to be and I was grandfathered in. While working at a local spa, it became clear that the owner had zero business sense and I was going nowhere fast.

When the business’s shortcomings made it more of a risk to stay than it was to go, I decided it was time to brave the world of entrepreneurship. With a $1000 loan from my soon to be father-in-law, I was off to the races!

Except there was one problem…. I knew practically nothing about running a business!

And remember, this was back in the day when online courses weren’t a thing, YouTube hadn’t been imagined yet and most other Esties kept their trade secrets well… Secret!

Over the next several years I grew my business by taking 2 steps forward and one step back, making every mistake in the book. Tax time was a nightmare because I didn’t stay on top of book keeping. Cash flow….? What’s that? I didn’t know my numbers and could have been inches from closing my doors and not even known it! Thank goodness I was amazing at my craft, because if I wasn’t, I probably wouldn’t have made it.

After finally mastering my finances I was able to start building out a team with the overflow of clients that were always finding their way to my door. This is where I learned that I love teaching not just my clients, but my fellow esties as well!

Now it is my mission to empower badass women to make big ass paychecks! Because when women have wealth, they won’t just change the beauty industry, they’ll change EVERYTHING!
